Judge Robert Vaguely

Judge Vaguely was the first judge on the case. In many ways I liked him. In distinct contrast to Judge Mearly, Judge Vaguely was prepared for court and courteous at all times. I got the sense he was not one to abuse his power.

Yet if Judge Vaguely had acted with a bit more thought and better judgment he could have prevented the tragedy my case became. He had the opportunity to do the right thing but did not live up to the challenge.

I have two major concerns with his actions. The first is that at the initial preliminary hearing when Spring started telling horrible lies about me, all Judge Vaguely needed to do was talk to the children and her lies would have have been made obvious. I practically begged him to do so but instead he declined and awarded temporary custody to Spring. He took my children away from me and gave them to a person whom three marriage counselor stated had drinking and other mental issues. That was a massive error in judgment and justice.

The second error by Judge Vaguely is that when a trial date was approaching he would not allow me to spend my money for legal fees. As I had no ability to borrow money, I was forced into a horribly unfair partial settlement. Judge Vaguely should have remembered that one of the base tenets of the law is the right to defend yourself. He severely curtailed my ability to do that. Ironically, throughout the entire divorce process I was required to pay all the legal bills for Spring.
