This is a bit over a year old but highlights the tragedy of (mostly) women not being able to get married because of permanent alimony. Deborah Leff Israel, to her credit, did something about it - she started the Florida chapter of the Second Wives Club, now called the Florida Women for Alimony Reform.
The concept of people such as Spring who were not the primary caretaker of the children, who wasted assets during he marriage, and who are perfectly capable of working receiving lifetime alimony after divorcing their spouse is outrageous. It has to change.
